Eric Rivera is a wrestling coach and Dominic Ortega is a wrestler at Kathleen MacDonald High School. They work in the wrestling room everyday from 4-6 pm and sometimes 5-7 pm.
Wrestling is a good sport to do in the wintertime, especially indoors. It started a long, long time ago, then it became a great sport to turn you into a young man or a young woman.
Rivera knows what this sport can do for young people.
“It’s a great sport and the best sport for you to turn into a young man,” said Rivera.
He knows that it is an important activity.
“Wrestling is a great sport to teach you about life in general,” said Rivera. “It’s a very old sport, starting with the Olympics.”
He also coaches off-season wrestlers.
“We do off-season clubs like the kids will come in during the certain weeks of the year,” said Rivera.
Rivera knows when the tournaments start.
“We have on the weekends usually high school wrestling tournaments all through the Bay Area,” said Rivera.
Wrestling now is in middle school, high school, and the Olympics.
