On October 14th, Human Physiology students dissected sheep brains in Mr. Lucas’s class. The anatomy students are learning about the nervous system and the different parts of the brain.
During this exercise, students are trying to go more in-depth on their current topic, the nervous system, and find out new things about how the brain operates. Students are using a sheep’s brain (it closely resembles a human brain more than other animals) to find the most accurate results for their investigation. Through this process, the students dissected the brain to find out how it looks and works on the inside
Senior, Tiani Buten, said that what they had learned during this dissection had content that referenced back to what they had already learned in the unit.
“The whole purpose of dealing with dissection is just like learning more about the nervous system,” Senior, Azimbek Dadajonav said.
Dadajonav said that dissecting sheep brains will be one of the many dissections they’ll do this year.
